For twenty years, the Central and Eastern European Proteomic Conference (CEEPC) has been a meeting ground for excellent proteomic, genomic and metabolomics. This milestone marks not only two decades of progress in these key ‘omics, but also celebrates CEEPC’s unique commitment to humanity (https://www.ceepc.eu/humanity), ensuring that scientific and medical advancement remains deeply connected to human well-being. Unlike similar organizations, CEEPC places people at the center: patients, researchers, clinicians, students, and the underprivileged communities that should equally benefit from scientific and medical progress.
CEEPC’s defining pillars are:
- Proteomics – Illuminating the dynamic proteome with depth, rigor, and precision.
- Systems Biology – Integrating data layers to understand the full complexity of life.
- Precision Medicine – Translating insights into therapies tailored to each individual.
- Humanity – The defining pillar of CEEPC, ensuring that scientific breakthroughs are aligned with human values, patient needs, equitable access to care, and the ethical use of technology and not forgetting the underprivileged worldwide.
These four pillars distinguish CEEPC from other conferences and emphasize the social, cultural, and human purpose behind any ‘Proteomics’ or ‘Omics’ discovery.
CEEPC: WHERE SCIENCE AND HUMANITY MEET
CEEPC has always been more than a scientific meeting. For two decades, it has been a ‘family feel’ collaborative environment where researchers, mentors, and early-career scientists, have gathered to enjoy the science, culture, cuisine and the warm hospitality of the hosting country whilst keeping patients at the center of the scientific purpose. In an era of rapid scientific and technological acceleration, CEEPC stands apart by ensuring that the human dimension remains the guiding principle of scientific progress.
THE NEXT ERA: INTEGRATED HUMAN-CENTRIC SCIENCE & MEDICINE
As proteomics embraces AI, multi-omics, and a need for precision medicine, the path forward demands responsibility, empathy, and a commitment to societal impact. The next 20 years will define not just new scientific and medical breakthroughs, but also how these discoveries uplift communities and improve human life across Central and Eastern Europe and far beyond.
At CEEPC, humanity is not just a theme — it is our foundation.
20 YEARS OF PROTEOMIC EXCELLENCE

We are indebted to the CEEPC Community, the CEEPC Scientific committee and researchers from all over the world joining us each year to not only advance proteomics but also to imbibe cultural aspects of Central and Eastern Europe – our sincere Thanks to all.
